You may have read my summary of, The Nature of Hypnosis and Suggestion (The Collected Papers of Milton H. Erickson, Vol. 1), by Milton H. Erickson (Author), Ernest L. Rossi (Editor)

This blog highlights key principles discussed in these papers and how hypnosis and suggestions can be woven into your daily routine, helping you unleash your true potential:

Start the day with a positive suggestion

As you wake up, (before you read your notifications) take a few moments to sit or lie comfortably and repeat a positive suggestion to yourself, such as “I am healthy, happy, and successful” or “I have the power to make positive changes in my life.”

Practice self-hypnosis

Set aside a few minutes each day to practice self-hypnosis. Find a quiet, comfortable space where you won’t be disturbed, and follow a relaxation script or guided meditation to enter a state of hypnosis. Once in hypnosis, you can give yourself positive suggestions or visualise yourself achieving your goals.

Use positive language

Throughout the day, make an effort to use positive language when speaking to yourself and others. Avoid negative self-talk and try to reframe negative thoughts in a more positive light.

Practice suggestion

Use suggestion to your advantage by suggesting to yourself that you will complete tasks or engage in positive behaviours. For example, you might tell yourself “I will exercise for 30 minutes today” or “I will eat a healthy lunch.”

Reflect on progress

At the end of the day, take a few minutes to reflect on your progress and any positive changes you have noticed. This can help reinforce the power of suggestion and motivation to continue using it in your daily life.

Keep in mind that this is just one example of a daily routine that incorporates the principles of hypnosis and suggestion. You can adjust and customise the routine to fit your own needs and goals.
