As a Transformational Change Coach, I see first-hand the power of the unconscious mind in shaping our behaviour and beliefs. The unconscious mind is often referred to as the “hidden” part of our psyche, because we’re not consciously aware of it, or it’s intensions for us.
Despite this, it is incredibly influential in our lives. It is responsible for automatic habits and behaviours, such as breathing. I often say, “we don’t think about breathing, it just happens, and it is a very useful programme in our unconscious!” So, you see how crucial it is in shaping our emotions, habits and beliefs. This is why we often find it hard to change the patterns and behaviours that are deeply ingrained in our unconscious mind.
The problem with trying to make change at the conscious level is that our conscious mind is only the tip of the iceberg. The vast majority of our behaviours, habits and beliefs are actually driven by the unconscious mind. So, if we want to make lasting, effective change, we need to find a way to reach into it and re-train it – like when we give our phones a system upgrade.
This is where the concept of Transformational Change comes in. Transformational Change is a process of deep personal development that involves working with the unconscious mind to shift limiting beliefs, habits and behaviours. We use the strategies that already exist within us to create new neural pathways that support positive change. We get your unconscious to start working with you, rather than against you.
One of the most powerful ways to do this is by repeating visual mental rehearsal and mantra or affirmations. By visualising a positive outcome, and repeating mantra focused on how you want to be, what you want to do, and what you want to have in life, we can start to re-program our unconscious mind. This creates new neural pathways that support the change you desire, and helps you overcome the limiting beliefs and behaviours that have been holding you back.
So, if you want to achieve real, lasting change in your life, it is essential to re-train your unconscious mind. The unconscious mind is the sweet spot for real transformational change, and by working with it, you can overcome limiting beliefs, break negative patterns, and create positive change that lasts.
